 We begin your home renovation journey with our free 15–45-minute phone consultation, designed to help homeowners plan successful new construction, renovation, or home improvement projects. During this initial call, our expert design team will assess your project goals, explain our process, and provide a preliminary verbal cost estimate, typically within 90% accuracy of the final fixed price.

After the phone consultation, we offer a complimentary in-home design visit to explore your vision in detail. This on-site consultation covers material selection, color palette planning, layout design, and overall project budgeting—all tailored to your style, timeline, and investment range.

We provide a customized design and order form, allowing for adjustments before finalizing a fixed-price project contract. Once your design is approved, you’ll receive a confirmed project start date, scheduled with a three-day window and maintaining our proven 95% on-time start rate. If scheduling conflicts arise, we guarantee at least one week’s advance notice, ensuring transparent and reliable communication.

 Personalized attention entails assigning one or more skilled contractors exclusively to your project from initiation to completion. These contractors dedicate their efforts solely to your project within the contractually stipulated timeframe before commencing other assignments. This necessitates adherence to a strict timeline to ensure timely project completion and maintain our 95% on-time project commencement rate. However, client satisfaction remains paramount; we will never compromise quality or cut corners to meet deadlines. Any necessary adjustments will be addressed under our binding price guarantee. 

  House MD prioritizes client privacy and home security. We exclusively employ vetted personnel from reputable sources, conducting thorough background checks on all employees before they enter your home. Furthermore, we maintain appropriate crew sizes for each project; bathroom renovations typically involve two or three personnel, while kitchen remodels may require two to five. House MD ensures project consistency by assigning a dedicated contractor from initiation to completion. 

 Typically, because we only take on one customer at a time, we book up fast, and during the summer it's not unheard of for us to be booked out 2-6 months. However, there are some rare times where we can get you in within a week or two these are rare but still happen from time to time. These are typically times where a customer who was booked may have had an unexpected change requiring them to cancel a contract or we happen to just finish up a current job and are open to new clients. Basically, if you are looking to have your bathroom renovated start about 2-4 months before your idea start time and kitchens 3-6 months 

Our binding price guarantee provides you and your family with peace of mind. A House MD contract ensures a fixed, unalterable price. The price agreed upon at contract signing is the final price. This eliminates concerns regarding additional charges or change orders due to unforeseen circumstances. Furthermore, House MD prioritizes customer satisfaction by proactively addressing potential improvements and or areas of concern; for example, we will consult with you before making any adjustments, such as relocating a wall to optimize tile placement and enhance the aesthetic outcome.

Our company is unique in New Jersey for its flexible deposit policy. While a case-by-case assessment is standard, smaller to mid-sized renovations typically do not require a deposit. Larger projects, however, may necessitate a small deposit to cover special orders. In most instances, deposits can be deferred until project commencement.

 We offer several payment options: check, cashier's check, or credit card. A 3.99% service fee applies to credit card payments. Payments are structured as follows: an initial deferred deposit is due on the first day of service. The remaining contract balance is divided equally across the project's duration in weeks. For example, on a $22,000, two-week project, the initial $7,333 deposit is due at the project's commencement. A second $7,333 payment is due the following Friday, with the final payment of $7,334 (cashier's check only; personal checks are not accepted) due upon project completion. 

 Adherence to our agreed-upon price is paramount to House MD's reputation and a core company value, significantly impacting customer satisfaction. This fixed price is designed to ensure a predictable and stress-free renovation. However, this policy does not extend to customer-initiated changes based on preference, not unavailability. For example, changes in paint color or faucet style may result in additional costs for non-returnable items. Conversely, if a specified item becomes unavailable and a comparable replacement, costs more, the difference will be absorbed under our binding price guarantee. 

  The project schedule includes a contingency buffer for minor adjustments; however, careful product and material selection during the contracting phase is critical. All change order requests must be submitted no less than 2 weeks prior to work commencement date. Client-initiated changes during the project significantly disrupt timelines, as scheduling depends on product availability and client-specified sequencing. Substantial delays caused by altered client specifications may affect subsequent project start dates and potentially exceed the budget. 

As previously detailed in our FAQs, we distinguish ourselves from other contractors by offering our binding price guarantee, unique among New Jersey contracting companies. This provides clients with peace of mind. Our commitment extends to comprehensive renovation support, addressing all questions and concerns throughout the process to ensure client comfort and understanding. We meticulously prepare your home, dedicating a day to protecting floors, walls, and isolating work areas. Furthermore, we utilize air scrubbers and filters to minimize dust, though complete dust elimination is impossible. A small amount of dust may remain but will be addressed at the end of the job.

  At House MD, we understand that pets are cherished members of the family. We'll care for your pets as if they were our own during the project. In fact, we'd love to offer your pet a complimentary toy as a gift from us. Please feel free to ask your salesperson or contractor about this.

To ensure your pet's safety, we'll treat them with the same care we'd give a small child. This means keeping sharp objects and tools stored securely away and removing any food brought into your home at the end of each day. We kindly request that you inform our crew of any specific habits your pet may have, such as getting into lunch bags. Additionally, if your pet tends to run out the front door, please take precautions to keep them secured, as our team will be entering and exiting your home throughout the day.
