Why install an Road Active Suspension system to your truck?
(RAS) is available for nearly any make and model of truck that is currently on the road today.
The Road Active Suspension kit absorbs and dissipates load force energy, resulting in significantly reduced or eliminated rear squat caused by heavy loads. It improves vehicle stability, balance, traction and control, all with (or without) a load. Road Active Suspension adds critical strength to leaf springs but will not compromise ride quality.
Road Active Suspension (RAS) is the only rear leaf spring suspension upgrade that converts basic “passive” leaf spring suspension to mechanical “active” suspension.
When towing or hauling a heavy load, you may encounter a number of problems that can make your driving experience difficult or dangerous, such as sway, body roll, or bottoming out. When your vehicle is weighed down, your factory leaf springs can't counteract these problems to the extent that they are supposed to. The weight will overpower the leaf springs and cause them to twist or flatten out. When that happens, they cannot support, level, or stabilize your vehicle effectively. Additionally, because your factory leaf springs are passive, they won't begin to tackle problems such as sway until those problems have already started.
Using Variable coil tension, the RAS spring converts any
passive leaf spring to an active suspension system. The RAS does this by keeping your leaf spring at its optimum bowed position, restricting the leaf spring from flattening out under heavy loads. RAS Reacts instantly without the interference of an outside source. Meaning that without user interference the system is able to handle a variety of loads from campers to boats, lumber and debris, your truck is now the most versatile machine on the road.
Best of all the RAS will not interfere with normal driving conditions when not in use.
Overwhelming your factory leaf springs with excess weight causes the back end of your vehicle to squat and sag. Ultimately this will cause your front end to rise which will result in loss of traction, and or steering control. This loss of traction can cause unintentional swerving coupled with an uncomfortable bumpy ride.
The RAS bolsters your factory leaf springs providing additional support when under load, all the while enabling your factory leaf springs to act as normal under no additional load. This will give you the best of both worlds, without having to constantly adjust your ride height.
Drive with confidence knowing you are safe to yourself, your loved ones and all who are out on the road
RAS is extremely durable and corrosion resistant. The units are constructed of high-grade alloy steel, and they have an epoxy e-coat on the coil springs to provide extreme corrosion resistance. The brackets on the ends of each unit resist the effects of water and other elements, and they have a salt spray rating of more than 800 hours.
